Hacilar Aceramica
This piece, Hacilar Aceramica, was created by Frank Stella in 2001. The piece is made using epoxy and spray paint on aluminium. I chose this piece mainly because of the extremely bright colors and shapes. Stella's use of shapes, textures, and patterns make this picture stand out. Patterns like the red and pink scales and the tie dye swirl stand out especially to me. I also liked how Stella used mostly bright, florescent colors, but still blacks, grays, and a few other dark colors. These different colors create the illusion that certain parts are jumping off the page while others are retreating back.
