Frank Auerbach was born in Berlin in 1931. He was sent to England, by his parents, to escape the Nazi's in 1939. His artistic talents and 'expressionistic' style did not go unnoticed and he was soon heralded an artistic prodigy. He used several mediums, oil, paint, and line, and this painting up close I feel is much more beautiful because you can see every detail. I also love the colors
