The Sacrament of the Last Supper is a painting by Salvador Dali. This was done in 1955 and the medium is oil on canvas. This painting takes the classic religious theme and ties surrealist themes. Dali used the golden ratio in this painting. Artists use this mathematical ratio to proportion objects at an ascetically pleasing proportions. I chose this painting because I like the twist on classical religious art. I also like how the main figure is pointing up to the body in the sky, it is very symbol of Jesus and God. Dali also uses perspective in this photo making the main figures head and body much smaller that the foreground figures.
