Still Life and Street

This is a  drawing by M.C. Escher and its called Still Life and Street. Escher was a Dutch graphic artist known for mathematically inspired woodcuts, lithographs, mezzotints. His works feature impossible constructions, explorations of infinity, architecture, and tesselations.  I thought this was a very interesting drawing because it seems that Escher combined his work table with a street. The books, his pipe, and the cards all seem to be laying at the end of this street.
