This drawing is by William Kentridge from Stereoscope 1998-99.  Here he uses a mix of three media: Pastel, Charcoal, and Colored Pencil.  This piece of art can be found in the Museum of Modern art in New York. Here we can see how he uses value and color.  It seems as if the man is drowning in some sort of personal problem whether it be work, or depression from a wide range of causes.
